Bridge to Terabithia
This is a classic chapter book about two unlikely friends. Leslie, the new girl in school makes friends with Jesse, and teaches him to expand his imagination. The friends build an imaginary world called Terabithia where they go on many adventures. Through tragedy, Jesse learns a lot about friendship and what it means to be brave.
There are so many great activities to do with this book, that is would make a great Tic Tac Toe project for older students. Some of the activities on the board could be drawing a map of Terabithia based on the description in the book, creating a wanted ad for a Terabithian knight, or writing an alternate ending to the book.
