Charlotte's Web
This is a the story of Wilbur the pig, who was born a runt and was taken care of by a little girl named Fern. As Wilbur gets older, Fern is forced to send him to live at her uncle's farm, where Wilbur soon learns the fate of pigs that live on farms. He meets a spider named Charlotte, who tries to help him scape his fate by writing words in her web to describe the amazing pig.
This book would be a great tool to help students learn about descriptive words. Students can "spin" their own "word web" with traits about themselves.
